I am Derek Lamb, I am a certified independent celebrant, local to Edinburgh however willing and able to travel throughout Scotland and further afield.
I create ceremonies that bring light and love to all stages in life, be that for a gender reveal or baby naming, a wedding or vow renewal, or for saying a final farewell to a loved one with a genuine celebration of their life.
Whats my ceremony style?
My ceremonies are natural & conversational, they are steeped in love reflecting my caring and romantic personality. I'm inquisitive and creative, I love to seek out those small things, that make us unique and special and I love to elevate them, to make them shine.
I believe that life is about joy and as a celebrant my ceremonies are joyfull and full of life, fun and laughter.

Naming and adoption ceremonies
The joy of welcoming a new life into your family calls for a naming ceremony which brings warmth, sensitivity, and a deep respect for your values and beliefs.
Every family is unique, and so is every ceremony I create. I work closely with you to design a service that reflects your hopes, your heritage, and the joy of welcoming your child into the world.
It is a wonderful way to bring family and friends together – the community within which your child will grow.
From intimate gatherings to larger celebrations, your day will be filled with love, laughter and lasting memories.
Because this is a truly special milestone – a new beginning. You have full flexibility over the content of the ceremony, telling any stories you wish, sharing thoughts from older siblings or guide parents.
I can incorporate symbolic gestures such as planting a tree or making memory boxes for when the child is older.

Vow Renewal
Whether you have reached a special anniversary or simply feel this is a good time to reaffirm your commitment, a vow renewal is a great way to celebrate your life together.
You may wish to revisit your original vows or make new ones. A ring exchange could be replaced by knot ties or oath stones - any rituals you wish. Contributions from the family could also make it special. This is about celebrating all you've been through as a couple and looking forward to many more happy years.

I have the privilege of being your celebrant as we come together to honour a life, to
share memories, to offer support and to say goodbye.
This is a time for honesty, for connection, and for remembering everything your loved one meant to you.
Although there will undoubtedly be sadness, it is also an opportunity to celebrate the moments, the stories, and the impact your loved one had on those around them. My role is to deliver a ceremony which brings personal meaning, honouring your
loved one in a way that reflects who they truly were. By bringing together your shared memories I will shape a lasting tribute to someone deeply loved and dearly missed.
